PETG (Polyethylene terephthalate) and 3D Printing

PETG is PET, specifically modified for 3D Printing.
 
The "G" stands for "Glycol-Modified". This change assures that the filament is clear and easier to use in 3D printing compared to PET.
 
It is known for its stable mechanical qualities and is visually pleasing.
 
PETG is fairly easily recycled from used beverage containers, although this material is still manufactured from crude oil. Compared to the use of petroleum as fuel, however, the amount of crude oil processed into PET is very small.
